Shayna Cavanaugh

Shayna began practicing law in 1996 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where she earned her law degree from Oklahoma City University School of Law. Shayna received her bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University in Journalism and Public Relations. She moved to Naples, Florida in 1997 and started her career practicing family law including divorces, domestic violence, and guardianship. Before starting her own practice, Shayna was an attorney for legal aid working with clients who had limited means and high needs in their divorces.

Throughout her career, she has handled hundreds of divorce cases, including complex matters involving domestic violence, parenting issues, relocation issues, and support issues. She has also helped hundreds of clients achieve a negotiated agreement through mediation by focusing on a client-centered approach.

Shayna’s passion for helping clients and her focus on what is most important to them while giving them the support, advice, and guidance throughout the process while they begin a new journey into life has inspired her to continue in her career as family law attorney.

Shayna has spoken on the issue of domestic violence and divorce while collaborating with the Shelter For Abused Women and Children as their contract attorney for 2003-2009. She has served on panels with judges, advocates, and psychologists to engage the discussions of how domestic violence impacts the spouses and children of divorce. Shayna has guest taught at local colleges and university on the issues of Family Law and Domestic Violence. She was involved in the Collier County Coalition Against Domestic Violence where she coordinated with the local shelter, Children’s Advocacy Center, Law Enforcement, and various other organization throughout Collier County to create resources for victims of domestic violence. Shayna has also been recognized for giving back to the community as a recipient of the “Giving Back” award through Legal Aid of Collier County. In 2016, Shayna received recognition as a “Top 10” in client satisfaction by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys. Shayna has recently been appointed to the Florida Family Law Rules Committee of the Florida Bar.
